JHMFD: What does Men's Health Network do?
TM: Men’s Health Network makes it our mission to reach men where they are—where they live, work, play and pray—with screening programs, health education and advocacy opportunities.

JHMFD: Why do we need such an organization?
TM: Men’s Health Network fills a unique role in that we are the only national organization solely dedicated to keeping men healthy and advocating on their behalf.

Within federal government, there are several offices dedicated to improving the health of women and girls across the country, and they have been very effective. Unfortunately, as of yet, there is no equivalent office dedicated to men’s health, emphasizing the need for an organization like ours.

JHMFD: Are there other things you need besides money?
TM: Volunteers! We are invited to participate in events every day across the country. Unfortunately, many times we are only able to send educational materials because we just don’t have the manpower to attend them all.

JHMFD: Anything else you’d like to mention?
TM: June is Men’s Health Month. This is a great time to host a men’s health event in your community, workplace, or place of worship. Use the awareness period to encourage men and boys to take preventive measures to stay healthy and seek early detection for any problems.
