Doctors and Writers: How to write for MyFamilyDoctorMag.com

MyFamilyDoctorMag.com is written by mainstream health-care providers for the general public. We welcome inquiries from professionals such as doctors, psychiatrists, registered dietitians, pharmacists and dentists.

WRITERS GUIDELINES

James Hubbard's My Family Doctor is written by currently licensed, mainstream health-care professionals (M.D.s, D.O.s, R.D.s, Pharm.D.s, etc). If you fit into that category and would like to apply to write for us on a freelance basis, we'd love to hear from you! We also publish guest blog posts from time to time.

Please e-mail managing editor Leigh Ann Hubbard, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , and tell us a little about yourself, including:

  • whether you currently practice and/or are licensed.
  • whether you're board-certified (and in what).
  • a link to a Web site with your bio (the hospital at which you work would be fine).
  • if available: around three writing samples meant for laypeople. (Even poems and short stories work.) If you have no samples, that's OK.
Other Stuff:
  • If you're interested or specialize in particular topics, we'd love to know about them.
  • Please do not send unpublished manuscripts.

MyFamilyDoctorMag.com's style is informal, conversational and as jargon-free as we can get. Humor is good, though not required.  We encourage you to read a few of our articles to get a feel for what we do.

Thank you for your interest. We keep interested writers on rosters and will be in touch if we find an article we believe would be a good fit.
