Our testers' advice on what to look for in an online gym.

Look for what helps you and your needs and watch out for pricey sites that don’t offer much.
Overall, this was an enjoyable experience, and it made me want to go buy some Bootcamp style workout videos. It just didn’t make me want to sign up for a web gym. The fees were so high, I couldn’t justify it for the limited amount of content that I was interested in. It might be better for someone who likes lots of different types of workouts. Me, I know what I like and that’s what I want to stick with.

Check video quality.
- Consider additional info/support, i.e. nutrition, motivation, etc.
- Be sure there is contact info. for any membership issues.
- Is the look of the site appealing to you (just like you want the environment and feel of a gym to feel right).

View sample videos, or a trial membership so you can see the videos to get a feel for them and if they will be a good fit for you. Using the service will mean spending considerable time with the people leading the classes so you would be well-advised to ensure there is a good fit.
Expect that you’ll be coordinating movements on your own with little cueing on body position of all joints for many of the movements.
